Superstar Rajinikanth’s fans were left confused on Saturday night, over the turn of events involving a 'Meet and Greet Thalaivar' contest.What was initially dismissed as a "fake" event by the actor's team in the morning, was later confirmed to be authentic by the same evening, thus sending fans into a tizzy.
Initial clarification from publicist
The confusion started when Rajinikanth’s publicist, Riaz Ahmed, issued a statement referring to the contest being promoted by Malaysian distributor Malik Streams as "unauthorised" and without the knowledge of the actor. In his post, Ahmed warned people not to be distracted by the announcement and encouraged the public not to take part in what he described as a misleading activity.

His message on X read, "We would like to clarify that the "Meet & Greet Thalaivar" contest that is currently being promoted by Malik Streams in Malaysia is completely unauthorised, fake, and has been announced without obtaining any prior permission from Thalaivar.
We strongly advise fans and the public not to participate or engage in this misleading activity. We request your kind cooperation in spreading this clarification to ensure that fans are not misled.

Rajinikanth's team issues clarification
However, a few hours later, Riaz Ahmed issued a second clarification to confirm that the 'Coolie Meet & Greet Thalaivar' contest was valid and cited 'miscommunication' for the previous post. He tweeted, "Clarification Statement! Due to an earlier miscommunication, there was some confusion regarding the Coolie Meet & Greet Thalaivar contest by Malik Streams.
We now confirm that the contest is valid, organised with the required details, and open for participation.
We thank all fans for their understanding and unwavering support."
About 'Coolie'
Rajinikanth was last seen in Lokesh Kanagaraj's 'Coolie', which also starred Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir, Upendra and Aamir Khan in key roles.The movie has completed 10 days of its release at the box office and has minted a staggering Rs 245.50 crore as per trade analyst Sacnilk.
