Ram Mandir donation row: Congress demands Supreme Court-monitored probe

A political face-off has erupted over the Ram Mandir donation case, Congress leader KC Venugopal slammed the central and UP governments and demanded an impartial inquiry monitored by a sitting Supreme Court judge into the case. He said that funds donated by crores of believers are being looted, and questioned the credibility of the Special Investigation Team probe initiated by the Uttar Pradesh police. Leaders from various opposition groups, including the Aam Aadmi Party, have also criticised the government. Meanwhile, the state chief minister has assured that those accused will face the harshest punishment.
