Ramgarh: A 36-member crime prevention and detection wing (CP&DW) has been set up and a digital criminal monitoring portal (DCMP) launched to keep tabs on repeat offenders in a bid to strengthen crime control measures across the district, Ramgarh police said on Saturday.SP Mukesh Kumar Lunayat said, “The CP&DW will maintain vigil on criminal activities through the DCMP and ensure prompt action. The portal has been developed to facilitate real-time monitoring of criminals and improve coordination among police units. The initiative is aimed at enhancing surveillance and speed up response time to various offences.”“The wing comprises SDPOs of Ramgarh and Patratu, DSP (Headquarters), circle inspectors, and officers in-charge of all the police stations across the district.
The wing will meet every fortnight to review crime trends and enforcement measures,” he added.“A total of 1,971 charge-sheeted miscreants involved in crimes lodged in police stations across the district between Jan 1, 2021, and March 31, 2026, have been identified. Of them, 1,374 are from Ramgarh, 458 from other districts of Jharkhand, and 139 from other states,” SP Lunayat stated.“The CP&DW will carry out dual verification of these charge-sheeted offenders, including those residing in other police station areas, districts and states, to maintain updated records and strengthen crime prevention efforts,” he stressed.“We will keep vigil and take quick action on all natures of crime, including murder, robbery, loot, theft, burglary, organised crime, snatching and vehicle theft,” the SP stated.
