Ranbir Kapoor credits Raj Kapoor, reveals travel plans with Raha ahead of 'Animal' release: I cannot wait to show Japan to her'

The excitement for ‘Animal’ (2023) is still strong among Ranbir Kapoor’s fans, who are now eagerly waiting for its next instalment which is titled ‘Animal Park’. Before the release of 'Animal' in Japan on February 13, the actor and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga took part in an online press meet, where they talked about the future of the series.

Ranbir Kapoor gushes about the dual role in 'Animal Park'

Sharing his excitement about portraying dual roles, Rannvijay and his cousin Aziz in the sequel, Kapoor expressed, “I can’t wait to get back on set with Sandeep and play these characters. Sandeep and I keep chatting through the week or month and keep discussing different ideas.” Sandeep Reddy, who is currently working on the Prabhas and Triptii Dimri starrer 'Spirit', revealed that Animal Park is expected to go on floors by mid-2027.

The actor revealed that it was Vanga’s confidence in him that encouraged him to take on a “scary character.” “Before this, I was always playing the lover boy and coming-of-age characters. When Sandeep narrated Animal to me, I found the character extremely scary to approach for an actor like me. But [thanks to] his confidence, I believed I could do it,” he said.

Ranbir Kapoor shared that he feels a strong connection with Japan, a bond he credits to his late grandfather Raj Kapoor.

“I have such a deep connection with Japan. One of my grandfather’s most popular songs around the world is ‘Mera Joota Hai Japani’,” he reasoned, adding that he looks forward to visiting the country with his daughter Raha. “I cannot wait to show Japan to her.”
