ETimes verdict

ETimes appreciated the film's unconventional storytelling and its willingness to move away from familiar thriller formulas. The review reads, "There are thrillers that keep audiences guessing with twists. Then there are films like Rao Bahadur, which ask a far more unsettling question: what if the mystery isn't what's happening around the protagonist, but what's happening inside his mind? Director Venkatesh Maha has never been interested in taking familiar roads, and Rao Bahadur continues that streak.

Instead of chasing jump scares, cliffhangers or easy reveals, he builds the narrative through atmosphere, silence and uncertainty.
