Six persons have died while 24 people, including a six-year-old girl, are believed to be injured as thousands of fans gathered outside the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru to celebrate the victory of Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL 2025 championship, on Wednesday (June 4, 2025). The death toll is expected to go up.

Sources told The Hindu that the injured persons were taken to Bowring hospital in Shivajinagar. It is learnt that some fans were injured as people gathered at the gates of the stadium where the cricket team was expected to turn up to celebrate the much-awaited victory. 

Before the team was expected to arrive at the stadium, they were felicitated by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar at the Vidhan Soudha.
