Nepal goes to the polls in what is widely seen as its most consequential election since the end of the civil war in 2006 — and the first since last September’s dramatic, youth-led uprising that toppled a sitting prime minister in just two days.
Six months later, however, accountability remains elusive. Two commissions investigating the crackdown have yet to release their findings. No convictions have been secured over the September violence.
