Arvid Lindblad, who boldly told Lando Norris to remember him, will join Racing Bulls in 2026 Formula 1, fulfilling his five-year prediction and partnering with Liam Lawson.

Seems like Arvid Lindblad's promise to Lando Norris came true indeed (X)
Red Bull prospect Arvid Lindblad once walked straight up to Lando Norris and told him to “remember me."
Why? Because in his mind, they’d be lining up as Formula 1 rivals within five years. It was the kind of bold, Hamilton-esque declaration you make only if you truly believe it.
Fast forward to December 2, 2025, and guess what? Lindblad called his shot.
The rising British star has officially been announced as a Racing Bulls driver for the 2026 Formula 1 season, headlining a major reshuffle across the Red Bull camp.
The news dropped as part of Red Bull’s full 2026 driver line-up reveal– and it’s a pretty seismic shake-up.
First up: Isack Hadjar is getting the golden ticket. He’ll be promoted to the senior Red Bull team next year, slotting in alongside reigning champ Max Verstappen. Huge move.
And Lindblad? He’s getting exactly what he’d been chasing. The 18-year-old will make the leap from Formula 2 to Racing Bulls in 2026, where he’ll partner with Liam Lawson.
The Lindblad hype has been building for years, and with good reason. As soon as the announcement dropped, old footage resurfaced of a 14-year-old Lindblad marching up to Norris and delivering his now-iconic line: “Hello Lando, I want you to remember me. I’ll see you in five years."
On the Inside Line F1 Podcast earlier this year, Lindblad explained the backstory. He was inspired by Lewis Hamilton’s famed childhood moment, when a young Lewis approached McLaren boss Ron Dennis and declared he’d one day be champion in one of his cars.
So when Lindblad saw Norris in the paddock that day — there launching his kart — he figured, why not shoot his shot?
“It was a spur-of-the-moment thing," he said. “I just said it with full confidence."
Turns out that confidence was justified.
