Representatives of various textile industry bodies and the Tamil Nadu Vanigar Sangangalin Peramaippu called on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin at the Secretariat in Chennai on Friday.

An official release said representatives from the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry, Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council, Synthetic and Technical Textiles Export Promotion Council, Powerloom Development and Export Promotion Council, Southern India Mills’ Association; South India Textile Research Association; CII Tamil Nadu Textile Panel; Tiruppur Exporters’ Association; Karur Textile Manufacturer Exporters’ Association and others called on Mr. Stalin.

They thanked him for the various announcements made at the recently held textile conference at the CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex in Coimbatore. These announcements included a 20% capital investment subsidy for textile companies to purchase advanced weaving and knitting machinery, with an annual allocation of ₹30 crore, and the extension of the 6% interest subsidy scheme for the purchase of pre-spinning and post-spinning machinery.

Separately, the Tamil Nadu Vanigar Sangangalin Peramaippu representatives, headed by its State president A.M. Vikramaraja, also called on Mr. Stalin and thanked him for extending the time limit for free welfare board membership registration for traders and for issuing orders reducing rents for HR&CE Department properties.
