A police operation to rescue a four-year-old boy in Bihar unexpectedly led to the recovery of another child who had been missing since 2022.
The incident took place in Bihar's Aurangabad district, where police were conducting a raid to rescue four-year-old Aadvik, who had been kidnapped on May 16. Police officials rescued Aadvik during a raid at the residence of the accused, Ranjoo Devi, in Obra.
However, the team made a surprising discovery when they found another child at the house who turned out to be a missing person from 2022.
The child, identified as Shivam, was allegedly abducted four years ago from a temple in Obra during Vat Savitri Puja. During questioning, the accused woman had claimed that Shivam was her own son.
Following verification, police established the child’s identity and decided to reunite him with his biological family.
On seeing his mother after four years, Shivam initially appeared frightened but later broke down and hugged her. His mother, Shanti Pandey, also became emotional and embraced him.
The rescue operation has drawn praise for the police personnel involved.
"By reuniting two mothers with their children, the police have reaffirmed people’s faith in the force," said Obra MLA Prakash Chandra.
