An Indian family allegedly vandalised property and threatened employees at an Indian restaurant in Vietnam, prompting the owner to post a video and details of the incident on social media.According to Aishwarya Khanna Singh, owner of Bombay Bites HCM in Ho Chi Minh City, the altercation began after staff politely asked the family to stop a child accompanying them from throwing tissues around the restaurant. She alleged that the family then began misbehaving with the staff and attempted to evade responsibility by claiming to be "influencers."Sharing details of the incident on Instagram, Singh wrote, "Civic sense is not about where you come from, how many followers you have, or who you think you are.
It's about how you behave in a shared space."She added that her restaurant had faced a situation "no restaurant should have to face," alleging that the family reacted aggressively after being politely asked to stop their child from throwing tissues around the dining area."Instead of cooperation, the situation escalated—property was damaged, staff were disrespected, and responsibility was avoided under the claim of being an 'influencer,'" she wrote.
Singh further stressed that "influence does not place anyone above basic manners," adding that a restaurant is "not a playground" and its staff are "not targets for anger or entitlement."She further stated that civic sense means "teaching children accountability, respecting public property, and understanding that rules exist so everyone can enjoy the space safely and comfortably."While the restaurant welcomes guests "from all backgrounds and cultures," she asserted that "respect is non-negotiable" and that "damage, disorder, and intimidation will never be tolerated."Concluding the post, Singh wrote, "Hospitality is our job. Basic decency is everyone's responsibility," before remarking that such people then often "go on Google reviews and say we (restaurant) performed poorly."The restaurant episode comes days after a video of a group of Indian tourists dancing on the tarmac at an airport in Vietnam went viral, sparking debate on social media.Days later, another group of Indian tourists drew criticism after dancing to a Shah Rukh Khan song at the famous Hanoi Train Street in the Vietnamese capital
