Dharwad: Chairman of the district Implementation Authority for State Guarantee Schemes, SR Patil, on Monday directed Hescom officials to restore snapped power lines immediately, whenever supply is disrupted due to rain, strong winds or other reasons.
Chairing a review meeting on the progress of state's five guarantee schemes, Patil said the KPTCL survey has begun across all taluks in Dharwad district. He said tenants can avail themselves the Gruha Jyothi scheme by submitting a handwritten rental agreement along with their Aadhaar card.Patil asked officials to step up awareness on the Yuva Nidhi scheme by visiting coaching centres and organising village-level meetings and information camps to educate unemployed youth about eligibility, benefits and the application process.He also instructed officials to ensure that all eligible beneficiaries are covered under the Gruha Lakshmi scheme and directed Anganwadi workers to verify details of deceased beneficiaries, and submit the required records. He further instructed officials to inspect toilets at bus stands regularly and initiate action against the staff if unhygienic conditions are found.ZP CEO Bhuvanesh Patil said the recovery of Gruha Lakshmi benefits credited to the accounts of deceased beneficiaries is under way.
Officials are also tracking cases where money from such accounts has been transferred to others. He warned that families who withdrew the amount using ATM cards must refund it to the govt, failing which, they could lose eligibility for future govt benefits.Under Yuva Nidhi, 12,448 applications have been received, with DBT assistance of Rs 32 crore released to 10,350 beneficiaries. Under the Shakti scheme, women have made over 41.1 crore free bus tours, for which the govt has released about Rs 907.7 crore. Gruha Jyothi has 5,08,244 beneficiaries with assistance of Rs 778.5 crore, while Gruha Lakshmi has benefited 3,77,912 women with financial assistance of Rs 2,194.8 crore.
