Director General of Police C.V. Anand, on Thursday, reviewed the long-pending reorganisation of police stations in Hyderabad, Cyberabad, Malkajgiri and Future City police commissionerates, directing officials to complete the exercise in accordance with the Government Orders issued in December last year.
Although the Government Order was issued in December 2025, police said the implementation of certain aspects remained incomplete, leading to confusion over jurisdictions in the four commissionerates.
During the review meeting, the commissioners presented proposals on the reorganisation of police stations, territorial jurisdiction, administrative requirements and other related issues. The DGP directed that police station limits should be redrawn in line with the Government Orders while taking into account the jurisdictions of municipal bodies, revenue divisions and courts.
He said the restructuring should also factor in future urban expansion, population growth and administrative requirements, and instructed officials to consider the views of all stakeholders before finalising the proposals.
The DGP also issued specific directions on the determination of police station limits in certain parts of Hyderabad. He said the revised jurisdictional boundaries should be finalised in a manner that does not inconvenience the public, government departments or the judiciary. Police said pending disputes and field-level issues were discussed during the meeting and incorporated into the proposals.
The meeting was attended by Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar, Future City Police Commissioner Tarun Joshi, Cyberabad Police Commissioner Ramesh Reddy, Malkajgiri Police Commissioner Sumathi, and Joint Commissioners and senior police officers.
