Retired Air Force officer honoured for 195 blood donations

Retired Air Force officer Boddepalli Ramakrishna Rao, a frequent blood doner, received the Rasthriya Gaurvav Puraskar, from Yogadham Sara Smrithi foundation at a programme organised in Jaipur, Rajasthan on during the Republic Day celebrations.

Mr. Rama Krishna Rao, who has donated blood 195 times, was selected by the association established by retired army, police officials for his service.

In a press note released on Tuesday, Mr. Rama Krishna Rao said that age is not barrier to donate blood which is required to save road accident victims and other patients. The foundation has urged him to conduct blood donation camps in rural areas.
