Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has yet again written to Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, seeking his intervention in resolving pending issues related to the Hyderabad Metro Rail project and facilitating a meeting with Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

In a letter to the Union Minister on Saturday, the Chief Minister requested Mr. Kishan Reddy to arrange a meeting with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw during his visit to New Delhi on June 22 and 23.

The Chief Minister said the meeting would help discuss key issues, including the Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-II project, the proposed Metro takeover plan and financing arrangements involving the Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC).

The Chief Minister stated that he would personally bring copies of the Metro takeover proposal, documents relating to loan agreements with the IRFC and the detailed proposals for Metro Phase-II during his visit to the national capital.

Emphasising the urgency of the matter, Mr. Reddy urged the Union Minister to facilitate the meeting at the earliest and communicate the schedule to the State government.

The Chief Minister also referred to his earlier communication sent on June 16, in which he had highlighted several unresolved matters concerning the Hyderabad Metro Rail project. He reiterated the need for the Centre’s support in addressing the issues expeditiously.

The Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-II project has been one of the key infrastructure priorities of the Telangana government, which has been seeking greater cooperation from the Centre for its implementation and financing.
