Revanth Reddy Hits Back At PM Modi Over Remarks On Congress, Calls BJP ‘British Janata Party’

Telangana CM Revanth Reddy also demanded an all-party meeting amid the West Asia conflict.

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP, accusing the ruling party at the Centre of practising divisive politics and misusing constitutional institutions. Speaking to reporters, the Chief Minister strongly objected to PM Modi’s remarks referring to Congress as “Muslim League Maoists Congress".

Calling the BJP the “British Janata Party," Revanth Reddy alleged that the saffron party was attempting to “divide" society and create “fear" among communities.

“We strongly condemn the statement made by PM Modi. Muslims and Maoists are also part of this country. It is unfortunate for a Prime Minister to speak in such a manner. They (BJP) want to end them, but our way is to bring them back to mainstream society. Telangana has witnessed more Maoist surrenders than any other state in the country", CM Reddy said.

The Telangana Chief Minister said his government believes in bringing Maoists back into the mainstream rather than adopting an approach focused solely on force.

CM Reddy Reacts To Restrictions Announced By PM Modi

Amid the West Asia crisis and PM Modi’s self-reliance push, CM Revanth Reddy stated that “PM Modi is imposing restrictions on people, giving such suggestions is nothing but a complete failure of foreign policy. They should call for an all-party meeting and take suggestions from everyone. India has witnessed many wars, including the India-Pakistan war but the country never faced such restrictions," he said.

He further argued that several nations directly involved in conflicts were handling the situation differently. “America and other countries facing crises are directly involved in wars, but India is not directly involved in this war. PM Modi should act, but he is not doing anything. They only know how to push someone into crisis," Revanth Reddy alleged.
