Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy urged Bharti Enterprises Chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal to expedite the launch of the Chandanvelli data centre project. He said that the State government is exploring the establishment of a large, integrated data centre and Artificial Intelligence (AI) infrastructure campus.
During a meeting with Mr. Mittal, who paid a courtesy call at the MCRHRD Bodhi Pavilion on Tuesday, the Chief Minister stressed the need to expand Airtel’s digital, cloud, cybersecurity, and AI operations in Hyderabad suggesting nomination of a senior executive to coordinate with the State government on future investments and ensure quick resolution of related issues.
Mr. Mittal said that Bharti Airtel was considering Hyderabad as its second headquarters and assured that the company would step up data centre capacity and expand fibre connectivity in the region.
The Chief Minister also briefed him on reforms in the State’s education sector, including the establishment of the Young India Skill University, upgrading of Industrial Training Institutes into Advanced Technology Centres (ATCs), and development of polytechnic colleges.
Mr. Mittal announced that the Bharti Foundation would provide scholarships to students studying in government schools and ATCs.
