Revenue dept to review pending land issues

Patna: The revenue and land reforms department will begin the second phase of its district-wise review of land and revenue matters with Patna district on Monday. The meeting will be held in the chamber of revenue and land reforms minister Dilip Kumar Jaiswal, department secretary Jai Singh said on Sunday.Singh said the review meeting would begin at 5pm and would be attended by all circle officers and revenue officers of the district. “The aim of the meeting is to get the update on the important matters related to revenue and the disposal of public grievances,” he said.He said the department had conducted the first phase of the exercise over 13 days, during which land and revenue matters in all 38 districts were reviewed in detail.

Officials were instructed to dispose of pending cases, address public grievances in a time-bound manner and speed up various departmental campaigns.According to Singh, the second phase will focus on assessing the action taken on the directions issued during the first round of meetings. In Patna, the review will cover issues related to land mutation, correction of records, land measurement, pending cases in revenue courts and the disposal of public grievances.

All circle officers and revenue officers have been asked to attend the meeting with updated reports.“The aim of the second phase review exercise is not just to assess the progress report, but to ensure quick disposal of the pending cases and bring in quality reforms in the revenue services, so that people get the required benefits,” Singh said.
