The Anti-Corruption Bureau on Thursday, May 14, arrested a revenue inspector in Warangal district while accepting a bribe of ₹10,000 from a complainant for processing mutation of ancestral property.
The accused was identified as Gattikopula Rambabu, revenue inspector at the Tahsildar office, Duggondi mandal.
According to the ACB, the official demanded the bribe to conduct a field enquiry, submit the verification report to the Tahsildar and facilitate mutation of the complainant’s ancestral property.
Officials said the accused was trapped by the ACB Warangal Range officials while accepting the amount at the Tahsildar office on May 14. The tainted cash was recovered from his possession.
He was arrested and produced before the special court for SPE and ACB cases in Warangal. Further investigation is underway.
The identity of the complainant has been withheld for security reasons. The ACB urged the public to report instances of bribery by public servants through its toll-free helpline 1064.
