Buxar: Tension prevailed in Bagen Gola police station area of Buxar district on Monday after the family and villagers of a worker blocked the main road for nearly one-and-a-half hour, alleging that he was murdered.The deceased was identified as Pravesh Musahar (40), son of Prema Musahar and a resident of Ekarasi village. He worked as a daily wager for a local farmer, Manan Chaudhary.According to the family, Pravesh had been missing for the past two days despite repeated efforts to trace him. His body was later found near a borewell in the village fields. The victim’s relatives alleged that Chaudhary had forced Pravesh to work and, when he refused, he killed him by electrocuting him.
Based on the statement of the deceased’s wife, Sita Devi, police have registered an FIR against Chaudhary.Police, however, are also examining another possible sequence of events. Preliminary information suggests that Pravesh may have accidentally come into contact with a live electric current from the borewell while working in the field. Investigators suspect that after the incident, the accused allegedly hid the body near the borewell for two days out of fear.Bagen Gola SHO Abhay Shankar Singh said that Chaudhary has been taken into custody and is being questioned. He said the investigation is underway and all angles are being examined.
