Heavy rain in Delhi and its adjoining areas brought respite from humidity and heat on Wednesday. The downpour also caused waterlogging in several areas, prompting traffic diversions in some areas.

Gurugram was battered by 133 mm of rainfall in the past 12 hours, with 103 mm pouring down in just 90 minutes, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue an Orange Alert for the region.

Visuals shared online on Thursday morning show vehicles moving slowly through rain-soaked streets in Gurugram’s Civil Lines area and Delhi’s Mandi House. The visibility is low, and heavy rainfall continues, with roads appearing slick and partially waterlogged.
