Swiss healthcare multinational Roche has selected Hyderabad to set up its second digital tech Hub in India.
The new hub will be going live in the first quarter of 2027 with plans to scale up over the next few years, the company said, announcing expansion of its global technology hub network, in India, to Hyderabad alongside the existing site in Pune.
The two digital technology hubs will house teams delivering IT services and digital applications in areas such as biostatistics, ERP and medical safety. Hyderabad adds depth and capacity to the Life Sciences domain knowledge specifically tailored to accelerating the development of Roche’s digital solutions, the company said in a statement that without mentioning the size and proposed headcount at the upcoming hub.
“Hyderabad is a destination for an exceptional talent pool, especially for the pharmaceutical and Life Sciences domain. By tapping into India’s vibrant healthcare and technology ecosystem, we are creating scalable data-driven innovations,” Chief Data Officer Ramesh Durvasula said.
Vice-President and Site Head, Roche Pune and Hyderabad Sites Raja Jamalamadaka said the investment in Hyderabad reflects the company’s long-term commitment to India and its ecosystem. “By scaling our footprint, we are enhancing our capability to orchestrate seamless, next-generation digital and technology solutions,” he said.
In October 2022, Roche Pharma had announced setting up a Global Analytics and Technology Centre of Excellence (GATE) in Hyderabad, its second such in the country, with a head count of 100 by that year and plans to expand ahead.
