Role of VAOs in national sample surveys stressed

A workshop for village administrative officers (VAOs) on their role in sample surveys was organised at Tiruvarur Collectorate on August 8 by the National Statistics Office, Sub-Regional Office, Thanjavur.

Delivering the introductory address, I. Palaniappan, Assistant Director, Regional National Statistics Office, Madurai, outlined the importance of involving VAOs in sample surveys, which play a crucial role in the formulation of welfare schemes.

While A. Shaheen, Senior Statistical Officer, National Statistics Office, delivered a technical session on the role of VAOs and the importance of sample surveys, Senior Statistical Officer K. Venkatraman highlighted the importance of Agricultural Statistics.

District Revenue Officer P. Kalaivani emphasised the importance of sample surveys and advised the VAOs to provide proper records and cooperation to the Statistical Officers who conducted the surveys, according to an official release.
