Rowdy found murdered

A 26-year-old rowdy-sheeter was allegedly hacked to death by a gang over a drunken brawl in the limits of Byatarayanapura police station in the wee hours of Monday.

The victim has been identified as Koushik, a cab driver. Koushik was found murdered in Bapuji Nagar.

According to the police, Koushik has around six criminal cases, including a murder case reported in 2020.

He was arrested and sent to the Central Prison at Parappana Agrahara. A few months ago, he got out on bail and used to drive a cab to eke out a living. On Sunday, he had a party with his friends and got drunk. The police suspect that during an argument over a trivial issue, his friends attacked him with beer bottles and a stone, leaving him dead.

The Byatarayanapura police have registered a case and have launched a probe to nab the accused.
