Ranchi: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) rescued three minors from trafficking at Hatia railway station and recovered a girl from Ranchi railway station in separate operations over the past two days.Under ‘Operation AAHT’, the RPF team rescued the three minor boys from a coach of the Dhanbad-Alleppy Express on Monday and arrested a man identified as Arun Ram, a native of Lakhisarai district in Bihar, in this connection.During interrogation, the RPF found that the accused lured the minors, aged between 11 and 12 years, by promising them jobs worth Rs 10,000 per month and were taking them to Tiruppur in Tamil Nadu when he was caught by the RPF team.
The accused was handed over to the anti-human trafficking unit for further action. Later, the boys were sent to a shelter home.In another case, during an operation under ‘Nanhe Farishte’, the RPF team noticed a minor girl sitting alone at platform number two at Ranchi railway station on Monday. During questioning, the girl stated that she is a native of Bhadrak in Odisha.RPF personnel stated that the girl has not revealed how she reached Ranchi railway station and what exactly happened adding that further investigation is on.The minor was produced before the Child Welfare Committee and later sent to a shelter home.
