Dubbed the largest unifying Christian event, ‘Run for Jesus’ took place on Saturday at over 800 locations across the country starting 6 a.m. The rally celebrated the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, coinciding with Good Friday and Easter and united Christians in devotion and joy.

Christians from Catholic, Protestant and other denominations in large numbers participated by walking, running and riding vehicles, waving flags and joyfully declaring: “Christ is Risen!”
Introduced by the Aradana TV team in 2011, the rally is a major annual event in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and other States. In the Greater Hyderabad region, the organisers said, the rally covered nearly 200 km across 40 locations.

Prominent persons in the event were Archbishop of Hyderabad Cardinal Poola Anthony; Moderator, Church of South India, K. Ruben Mark; Bishop, Methodist Church of India, A. Simeon; former actress Jayasudha and other public representatives.
