Russia Becomes First Country To Recognize Afghanistan's Taliban Government; Will China Be Next? | 4K
Russia has become the first country to formally recognize the Taliban government in Afghanistan since it seized power in 2021. On July 3, Russia said it had accepted the credentials of a new ambassador of Afghanistan. The announcement was made after Afghanistan's foreign minister met with Russia's ambassador to Afghanistan in Kabul. “We welcome this and it is a positive step forward, this will further enhance our relationship with Russia”, Amir Khan Muttaqi, Afghan Foreign Minister said. The move comes shortly after Gul Hassan, a Taliban diplomat, assumed the role of Kabul’s ambassador to Moscow. Shortly after, the flag of Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan replaced the state symbol of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan on the country's embassy in Moscow. n18oc_world n18oc_crux0:00 INTRODUCTION3:05 WHAT HAS RUSSIA SAID?5:34 TALIBAN HAILS RUSSIA’S ‘BRAVE DECISION’7:54 CHINA WELCOMES THE RUSSIAN MOVE
