In an exclusive interview with India Today, S Gurumurthy, Editor, Thuglak, shared his views on the allegations of donation theft and embezzlement at the Ram temple, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust's decision to accept resignations of Champat Rai and Anil Mishra and SIT probe in the case.
Dismissing claims of systemic failure, he defended the Ram Temple Trust's swift response, contrasting it with bureaucratic delays in other religious institutions. On Ram temple donation theft, he said, "You see, nobody is going to lose trust in Ram because of this, I can assure you. They may feel hurt that this is happening even in Ram Temple, because Ram Temple is not just a temple of faith. It is a temple which transformed the polity of India. And it is associated with Ram Rajya."
On Champat Rai, he said, "I know Champat Rai for thirty years. The man will not even take a cup of tea at the cost of Ram. Okay, he has to go through this process. He has to prove himself. But the fact is that if he has done anything wrong, the people under him will never leave him out. Why not we wait?
