S.J. Chiru is Secretary of T.N. Transport, Natural Resources Departments

The Tamil Nadu government has named senior IAS officer Shunchonngam Jatak Chiru as Secretary of the Transport Department. He will also hold full additional charge as Secretary of the Natural Resources Department. Incumbent K. Phanindra Reddy, who had been holding these posts, retires on Thursday (July 31, 2025).

While R. Gajalakshmi has been posted as Commissioner of Transport and Road Safety, G.S. Sameeran will assume office as Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board. Kiran Gurrala has been posted as Commissioner (Social Security Schemes) in the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, and K.V. Muraleedharan, as Director of Fisheries and Fishermen Welfare. 

Prashant M. Wadnere has been posted as Secretary (Expenditure) and Raja Gopal Sunkara, as Joint Secretary in the Finance Department. Deepak Jacob has been posted as Director of Survey and Settlement. Kavitha Ramu will assume office as Managing Director of Co-optex. 

Thakare Shubham Dnyandeorao, meanwhile, has been posted as Joint Commissioner, Commercial Taxes, Coimbatore, and V.S. Narayana Sarma, as Joint Commissioner both in the Large Taxpayers Unit and in Intelligence Unit, Commercial Taxes, Chennai.
