Samarth Shamanur, Umesh Meti take oath as MLAs

Congress leaders Samarth Shamanur and Umesh Meti on Thursday took oath as members of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly.

Assembly Speaker U.T. Khader administered the oath in the presence of party leaders and family members of both MLAs. Mr Samarth won the byelection from the Davanagere South Constituency, while Mr. Meti was elected from Bagalkot following the demise of his father, H.Y. Meti, who had represented the constituency.

The byelections to both constituencies were held on April 9, and the results were declared on May 4.
