New Delhi: Samsung has officially announced that they are introducing Samsung Browser for Windows, by extending its mobile browser to PCs with the aim of cross-device continuity and integrated AI capabilities. Samsung has also stated that the latest browser enables users to move between mobile and PC without losing their browser context, while also unveiling an AI assistant powered by Perplexity AI.
An AI assistant will understand webpage content, the user activity, and natural language queries to simplify common web tasks.
The Windows version of its browser enables users to continue browsing seamlessly across devices. However, beyond syncing bookmarks and history, users can resume the same webpage when switching between mobile and PC.
This browser also integrates Samsung Pass, which allows users to securely store login credentials and personal information and autofill them across devices. The company has also unveiled an AI-powered assistant within the browser, developed in partnership with Perplexity.
Samsung states that the assistant is especially designed to understand natural language, webpage context, and activity across multiple tabs.
This enables the users to perform actions such as managing tabs, navigating browsing history, and interacting with content without leaving the browser. The browser can analyze the content of a webpage to generate responses.
The browser also includes a natural language-based search, allowing users to find information without manually going through multiple webpages. This also expands to video content as well, where the browser can locate and play specific moments within the video.
The users can search their browsing history using conversational queries rather than keywords or dates. The browser can also summarise and compare the information across multiple open tabs.
Samsung Browser for Windows will be available on devices running Windows 10 and Windows 11. These agentic AI features are currently supported in South Korea and the US on both Windows and Android, with plans to extend to other markets later.
