New Delhi: Samsung has officially shared several details about its upcoming smart glasses. Samsung executive Jay Kim has spoken about the upcoming device, and they have confirmed several features, including the camera placed at eye level, and support for connecting to devices.

Samsung has also been working on extended reality and smart glasses devices for some time. Samsung has also stated that it is working with US-based chipmaker Qualcomm and Google to develop a new ecosystem of AI-driven wearable devices.

This partnership might feature Qualcomm’s specialized chipsets and Google’s Android XR platform, aiming to combine advanced AI capabilities with seamless phone connectivity. This partnership was the Galaxy XR headset, which went on sale last year in select regions and was based on Google’s Android XR.

AI is also expected to play a role in the experience. AI will be able to understand where users are looking, which might enable the system to analyze objects in scenes in front of the users and offer relevant information. Samsung has also earlier confirmed that its AI glasses will be powered by Gemini AI.

The glasses will connect to the phone, indicating that much of the processing might take place on the device rather than inside the glasses themselves. Visual data captured by the glasses could be sent to the device, where the AI analyzes the scene and offers contextual responses.

Samsung has not official confirm that whether the glasses will going to include any built-in display. The users could rely on other devices, such as a phone or a smartwatch, if they need the screen. Samsung could be developing a different version of the glasses, by including models with and without a display.

Samsung is also aiming to introduce its first smart glasses in 2026, marking Samsung’s entry into the growing AI wearables market. Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon has also indicated a similar timeline for the device, suggesting that the development is already underway.
