Sanjay D Patil honoured with Maharashtra’s highest agri award

Kolhapur: Agriculture entrepreneur and educationist Sanjay D Patil was conferred the Maharashtra govt’s prestigious Krishi Ratna Award for 2023 by Governor Dr Jishnu Dev Varma at a function held in Mumbai on Wednesday to mark Krushi Din.Patil and his wife, Vaijayanti Patil, accepted the award presented by the state agriculture department. Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, deputy chief minister Sunetra Pawar and several ministers were present at the event.The Governor stressed the need for sustainable and modern agricultural practices to help India emerge as a global leader in the agriculture sector.Praising Patil’s contribution, Fadnavis said, “Sanjay D Patil continously helped improved farming practices.

He helped farmers in many ways. Sanjay D Patil also has unique identity-chancellor of three universities.”Agriculture minister Dattatray Bharane also lauded Patil’s work in the sector. “Sanjay D Patil is the role model for many. He led various initiatives, experimenting in poultry, dairy and developing brand led by farmers,” Bharane said. Accepting the honour, Patil dedicated the award to the farming community.
