The Andretti pair locked out the front row in qualifying and made full use of the opportunity by finishing the Sanya E-Prix in the same order. Polesitter Jake Dennis claimed victory, while his Andretti team-mate Felipe Drugovich joined him in second, with both securing their second podiums of the season.

Joining them on the podium was Cupra Kiro driver Pepe Marti, who also claimed his second podium of the campaign.

Jake Dennis had to wait a long time for his second victory after starting the season with a win in Sao Paulo. The triumph came soon after he celebrated his 31st birthday, having spent the week focused solely on race preparation and travel. His hard work finally paid off as he claimed victory at the Sanya E-Prix on Saturday.The result moved the Andretti driver up to fifth in the Formula E Drivers' Standings with 94 points. Marti also broke into the top ten, moving into tenth place with 55 points.

What was particularly noteworthy was that Formula E rookies Felipe Drugovich and Pepe Marti both claimed their second podiums of the season after securing their maiden podium finishes during the Monaco double-header.Jaguar TCS Racing's Antonio Felix da Costa finished fourth, followed by DS Penske's Maximilian Gunther.

The latter has endured a difficult season and will take a sigh of relief after collecting 10 points in Sanya. Mahindra Racing's Nyck de Vries finished sixth and also set the fastest lap of the Sanya E-Prix. Porsche driver Nico Muller was seventh, while the previous Sanya E-Prix winner Jean-Eric Vergne finished eighth.

DS Penske's Taylor Barnard and Lola Yamaha ABT's Lucas di Grassi rounded out the top ten.

Disappointments at the Sanya E-Prix

Jaguar TCS Racing driver and championship leader Mitch Evans qualified third behind the Andretti duo but suffered misfortune after becoming entangled with Zane Maloney's Lola Yamaha ABT car at the hairpin. Nevertheless, he continues to lead the Drivers' Standings.Meanwhile, Cupra Kiro driver Dan Ticktum finished 15th after starting fourth on the grid. Mahindra Racing driver Edoardo Mortara, who topped FP1 and finished second in FP2, was also unable to finish the race.
