Formula E is back in action after a month-long break. The all-electric racing series returns to the island of Sanya in China after seven years. With three races scheduled in China this season, the first will take place in Sanya on 20 June.

As the drivers prepare to tackle the summer heat following the last race in Monaco, here is the complete schedule for the Sanya E-Prix, where to watch Round 11, and everything you need to know about the circuit and the weather forecast for race day.

Sanya E-Prix race timings

The Sanya E-Prix weekend will begin on Friday, 19 June, with the first free practice session (FP1). It will start at 4:30 pm local time (2:00 pm IST).The second free practice session (FP2) will take place on Saturday, 20 June, at 8:30 am local time (6:00 am IST).

The drivers will then gear up for qualifying at 10:40 am local time (8:10 am IST), followed by the Round 11 final race at 3:05 pm local time (12:35 pm IST).

Sanya E-Prix weather forecast

According to AccuWeather.com, it is expected to be very hot and humid in Sanya throughout the race weekend, although rain could provide some relief. It will remain cloudy during FP1 on Friday evening after morning showers bring the temperature down to around 29-30°C.On Saturday, the temperature is expected to remain around 31°C, with cloudy conditions throughout the day.

There is also a chance of thunderstorm in the morning during free practice and qualifying. The sun is expected to come out later in the afternoon, although it will remain partly cloudy during the race, which starts at 3:05 pm local time. The temperature is forecast to be around 32°C, but the RealFeel temperature could be as high as 41°C. Rain is not expected during the race.
