A specially designed robot developed by students of Government Arts College in Coimbatore added a unique touch to the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections by greeting voters and distributing sweets at a polling station.
Built using voice processing and radio control (RC) technology, the robot was part of an initiative aimed at encouraging greater voter participation and making the electoral process more engaging.
Explaining the initiative, student developer Vimal Vijayan told ANI that the objective was to promote higher voter turnout. “Today is election day for Tamil Nadu. So, we are promoting 100% voting through this robot. People are giving great response to this," he said.
