Sri Sathya Sai District Superintendent of Police S. Satish Kumar launched an outreach programme titled “Amma, Are You Safe? Do You Have Any Problems?” on Tuesday (May 26, 2026), across several residential colonies in Dharmavaram municipality. He interacted with women and residents to assess their safety concerns, curb anti-social activities, and strengthen public confidence in policing.
The SP visited Thikkaswamy Colony, Shivanagar, Nesepet, Madhav Nagar, Dargah Circle, Loni Peta, Cheruvu Katta, LCK Puram, and MG Colony, where he enquired about women’s safety, suspicious movements, youth-related issues, harassment complaints, and disturbances caused by drunkards and anti-social elements.
Addressing the residents, the SP urged them not to fear approaching police in cases involving domestic violence, eve-teasing, threats, or night-time nuisance. He assured immediate police response and said the department remained committed to protecting women and maintaining public order.
Several women informed the SP that increased night patrolling had improved their sense of security and appreciated the prompt response of personnel to complaints received over phone calls.
Mr. Satish Kumar appealed to residents to install CCTV cameras in colonies to strengthen crime prevention and public safety. He warned that strict action would be taken against rowdy elements and offenders who disturb the peace.
He said regular field visits would continue across the district to reassure women and girls, improve coordination between citizens and police, and gather direct feedback on local law and order conditions during late-night and early morning hours.
Police personnel from the One and Two town police stations in Dharmavaram took part in the outreach programme.
