Fresh from winning a World Championships bronze medal in Paris, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty will once again lead India’s campaign at the Hong Kong Open Super 500 badminton tournament, which begins on Tuesday.

Currently ranked world No. 3, Satwik and Chirag have been India’s most consistent performers on the BWF World Tour this season. T

The eighth-seeded Indian pair, who clinched their second World Championships bronze last month, will begin their Hong Kong campaign against Chinese Taipei’s Chiu Hsiang Chieh and Wang Chi-Lin, the Tokyo Olympic gold medallist.

Sindhu Looks to Build Momentum

Two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu showed encouraging signs of returning to form in Paris, highlighted by her dominant win over China’s Wang Zhi Yi before bowing out in the quarterfinals. The former world champion opens her campaign here against Denmark’s Line Christophersen.

Youngsters in the Spotlight

India’s rising star Ayush Shetty, fresh off his US Open title, faces a stern first-round challenge against China’s Lu Guang Zu.

Meanwhile, Lakshya Sen, once ranked world No. 6, continues to search for rhythm after a disappointing fourth-place finish at the Paris Olympics. The 24-year-old, plagued by injuries and narrow losses this season, begins against Chinese Taipei’s Wang Tzu Wei.

Veteran HS Prannoy, who lost a hard-fought battle to Denmark’s Anders Antonsen in Paris, faces another tough test in Japan’s fifth seed Kodai Naraoka.

Women’s Singles Challenges

In women’s singles, Anupama Upadhyaya will take on fourth seed Tomoka Miyazaki of Japan, while Rakshitha Ramraj faces Thailand’s former world champion and fifth seed Ratchanok Intanon.

Doubles and Mixed Doubles Campaigns

In men’s doubles, Hariharan Amsakarunan and Ruban Kumar Rethinasabapathi will represent India, while the Panda sisters, Rutaparna and Swetaparna, compete in women’s doubles.

India’s strong mixed doubles contingent includes Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto, who reached the World Championships quarterfinals, and will now face Chinese Taipei’s Chen Cheng Kuan and Hsu Yin-Hui. Rohan Kapoor and Gadde Ruthvika Shivani face a stern test against China’s second seeds Feng Yan Zhe and Huang Dong Ping.

Qualifiers: Srikanth Faces All-Indian Battle

The qualifiers bring an intriguing all-Indian clash between Kidambi Srikanth and Tharun Mannepalli. Srikanth, the only Indian to reach a Super 500 final this year, finished runner-up at the Malaysia Masters.

Elsewhere, Kiran George meets Malaysia’s Cheam June Wei, while S Sankar Muthusamy Subramanian takes on Canada’s Wang Yue Hang.
