The Kerala State Commission for the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes has sought a report from the police on an incident where a tribal man died allegedly after an ambulance carrying him was caught in a protest organised by Congress workers.
The Commission has directed the State House Officer of the Vuthura Police Station in Thiruvananthapuram district to submit the report within 10 days. Commission member Sethu Narayanan also paid a visit to the house of Binu, 44, the tribal man who died on Saturday.
On Sunday, the Vithura police registered a case against 10 Congress workers for allegedly blocking the ambulance carrying Binu who was being taken from the taluk hospital at Vithura to the Government Medical College Hospital for emergency medical care.
