The JSS Science and Technology University (JSS STU), Mysuru organised the Doctoral Research Conference (DRC 2.0) with the objective of promoting research excellence, interdisciplinary collaboration, and knowledge sharing among research scholars.
The conference was inaugurated by Dr. Jayavardhana Gubbi, Principal Scientist, Research and Innovation, TCS, Bengaluru, in the presence of Prof. Dr. B. Suresh, Director, Technical Education Division, JSS Mahavidyapeetha, Mysuru. The programme was presided over by Prof. Dr. A. N. Santosh Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, JSS STU.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Dr. B. Suresh emphasised that “a PhD is not the destination; it is a transformation.” Using an engaging visual representation, he explained the various stages of the doctoral journey and highlighted how perseverance, continuous learning, innovation, and ethical research shape a researcher into a lifelong learner and leader.
Delivering the inaugural address, Dr. Jayavardhana Gubbi shared three valuable messages with the research scholars: to pursue research that addresses real-world problems, to embrace emerging technologies and interdisciplinary approaches, and to uphold originality and integrity in research. He encouraged scholars to think beyond conventional boundaries and strive to create research with societal and industrial impact.
In his remarks, Prof. Dr. A. N. Santosh Kumar emphasised the importance of strengthening national and international collaborations, expanding research networks, and publishing high-quality research in reputed journals.
The Book of Abstracts, comprising 100 research abstracts submitted by doctoral scholars from various disciplines, was released on the occasion. The conference provided a platform for scholars to present their research findings, receive expert feedback, and foster interdisciplinary collaborations.
On the occasion, the University felicitated outstanding researchers through the Research Excellence Awards in various categories.
