Schoolboy jumps from highrise after being told to attend tuition in Mumbai

MUMBAI: A 14-year-old boy jumped to his death from a Kandivali highrise on Wednesday reportedly angry after being asked by his mother to go for tuitions. Kandivali police said the family lives on the 51st floor of the highrise but it's not clear where he jumped from.

An accidental death case has been recorded.The boy was a school student and lived with his mother at the highrise on 90 Feet Road. Around 6 pm on Wednesday, his mother asked him to go for tuitions. He refused to go and went down to play. Later residents heard a loud thud and found the boy grievously injured. Police said he is likely to have jumped from a considerable height as his brain had smashed from the impact. His mother was looking for him when she was informed of the suicide. His body has been sent for an autopsy.
