1 golfer had a powerful back-nine finish that stunningly won the championship. Five wins on the 2025 PGA Tour season kept Scottie Scheffler at the top of the FedEx Cup standings going into next week's Tour Championship. Winning at Caves Valley also guaranteed Scottie Scheffler a $3.6 million reward and locked in a $5 million bonus prior to the FedEx Cup Playoffs climax.

Scottie Scheffler delivers big moment with late birdie to secure victory

Starting the final round, Scottie Scheffler knew Robert MacIntyre had dominated most of the competition. Still, Scheffler was close and stayed patient. Scottie Scheffler made a birdie on the par-4 17th hole from the rough and triggered a loud cheer over Caves Valley Golf Club and the turning point. Two strokes ahead from that shot, Robert MacIntyre had very little chance to react. On the 18th hole, Scottie Scheffler then made a steady par to conclude at 14-under and claim the second leg of the FedEx Cup Playoffs.

Robert MacIntyre finished second at 13-under after finding only one fairway on the front nine and missing an important birdie put on the 15th hole.

After his round, Robert MacIntyre said, “I struggled with the driver today. When you leave the door open for a player like Scottie Scheffler, he usually walks through it.”The second place still helped Robert MacIntyre jump 11 spots to No.9 in the FedEx Cup standings.
