Seema Aggarwal appointed TN Fire Commission chairperson

Chennai: Senior IPS officer belonging to 1990 batch, Seema Aggarwal, who is scheduled to retire from service on June 30, has been appointed as the chairperson of state fire commission, following the resignation of retired DGP Shankar Jiwal on Wednesday.

According to the order issued by the additional chief secretary to the state K Manivasan, she will hold the post for two years — the fixed tenure formulated by the former govt.Along with Jiwal, three other members — Vikraman, Sathyamurthy and Namachivayam — who were appointed to the freshly created posts by DMK govt in Sept 2025, submitted their resignations.Meanwhile, DGP Sandeep Mittal was appointed as the DGP of Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board (TNUSRB), and additional director-general of police (ADGP) R Dhinakaran was posted as the ADGP, Armed Reserve.
