ADILABAD
A 19-year-old youth allegedly involved in a string of temple burglaries was arrested by the Adilabad police during a vehicle-checking drive in the town on Wednesday.
The accused, identified as K. Kashinath, a computer operator from Dasnapur locality in Adilabad, was wanted in 11 temple theft cases reported in Adilabad town, Bheempur and Talamadugu mandals between March and July this year, police said.
The police seized stolen gold and silver ornaments, a motorcycle, two mobile phones and ₹2,150 in cash from his possession.
A case was also registered against a local gold merchant for allegedly purchasing some of the stolen ornaments despite knowing they were stolen.
Further investigation is underway.
