Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated the new Prime Minister's Office (PMO) complex, named 'Seva Teerth', and the 'Kartavya Bhavan' in New Delhi. Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister stated that these new structures represent the aspirations of 140 crore Indians, moving away from the colonial legacy of North and South Blocks. He emphasized that 'Seva Teerth' is not merely a name but a resolve to serve citizens, where every decision must aim to improve the lives of the people. PM Modi highlighted that the consolidation of ministries into these new buildings will save approximately ₹1,500 crore annually in rent and logistics. He reiterated his government's commitment to shedding the 'mentality of slavery', citing the renaming of Rajpath to Kartavya Path and Mughal Garden to Amrit Udyan as steps toward a decolonised identity. The Prime Minister urged officials to adopt a 'Citizen First' work culture to achieve the goal of 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047.
