Seven districts on yellow alert on Thursday

Kochi: IMD issued yellow warning for heavy rainfall in Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad and Malappuram on Thursday. Meanwhile, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod will be on yellow warning on Sunday.

No warning has been issued for Friday and Saturday.Meanwhile, some parts of the state received significant amounts of rainfall on Wednesday.Urumi in Kozhikode recorded 12cm rainfall till 5.30pm. Rest of the places received 3cm rainfall and less than that. IMD also warned that thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty wind speed reaching 30-40kmph are very likely to occur at one or two places in Kerala on Thursday.
