Kalvakuntla Kavitha, daughter of former chief minister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) chief K Chandrasekhar Rao, launched her own political party on Saturday. Kavitha’s new political party has been named “Telangana Rashtra Sena". The name was registered two months ago.
Before launching her party, Kavitha paid floral tributes to Martyrs at The Amaraveerula Stupam in Gun Park.
Kavitha resigned from the BRS and also from her Legislative Council seat after differences with the party leadership seven months ago, and decided to chart her own political course.
The Adhya Convention Centre premises, spread over nearly 20 acres, have been converted into a large meeting venue. Kavitha founded the Telangana Jagruthi two decades ago during the statehood movement.
