Several Karnataka Muslim Congress Workers Resign Over Mangaluru Murder

The resignation comes two days after one Abdul Rahman was killed by two motorcycle-borne youths, who attacked him with a sword.

The resignation comes two days afterSeveral Karnataka Congress workers of the Muslim community tendered their resignations today, May 29, in Dakshina Kannada district, in the wake of the murders of youth belonging to their community.

The party members resigned during a protest meeting held to demand strict action against the deteriorating law and order situation in the state. They also alleged the failure of the government to protect the minorities.

Notably, a 32-year-old man was killed in Bantwal taluk while he, along with his co-worker, was unloading gravel. Two motorcycle-borne youths attacked the duo with a sword on Tuesday, killing Abdul Rahman.

Meanwhile, Kalandar Shafi, 29, who was also attacked, is currently undergoing treatment.
