The SGCCI has decided to send the details of industrial areas where PNG gas pipelines are not available to the GSPC.

Under this arrangement, to get gas cylinders for the artisans working in industrial units, the concerned units will have to apply to the nearest gas supplier with the name of the artisan and a copy of Aadhaar card on their letterhead. Gas cylinders will be delivered as per the available stock and replacement of HPCL, BPCL and IOCL cylinders will also be done. This arrangement has been made to prevent migration of workers.
In addition, the new process for PNG pipeline connection has been simplified and the period of 45 days has been reduced to just 7 days, details of industrial areas where gas lines are not available will be sent to Gujarat Gas by the Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber of Commerce will play an active role in coordination between industrial associations and Gujarat Gas.
SGCCI president Nikhil Madrasi said that the Chamber of Commerce is with the government in the current difficult situation. The Chamber will act as a bridge to achieve effective coordination between all industries, the Collectorate and Gujarat Gas.
SGCCI vice-president Ashok Jirawala said that during the meeting, the Chamber of Commerce had made a representation to Gujarat Gas Managing Director Smt. Avantika Singh to lay gas lines in industrial areas like Sachin, Palsana, Pandesara, Kim-Pipodara, Sayan and Mangrol as soon as possible.
Furthermore, gas lines have been laid in some industrial areas but supply could not be started due to non-availability of meters, hence the Chamber had made a representation to install meters in such areas quickly and provide gas supply. Gujarat Gas received a positive response to the representation of the Chamber of Commerce to take prompt action.
