The Seattle Orcas produced a commanding all-round performance to defeat the Washington Freedom by 88 runs in Match 9 of Major League Cricket (MLC) 2026 at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum.
A blistering knock from Shimron Hetmyer and a sensational five-wicket haul from Jasdeep Singh powered the Orcas to a comprehensive victory over the star-studded Freedom outfit.

After being put in to bat, Seattle Orcas recovered from a cautious start thanks to a devastating counterattack from Shimron Hetmyer.
The West Indian left-hander smashed 79 off just 33 deliveries, hammering nine sixes and two fours to seize complete control of the innings.Captain Marcus Stoinis provided the perfect support with a breathtaking 42 off 16 balls, launching six towering sixes, while opener Tim Seifert chipped in with a brisk 37 off 20 deliveries.Despite Marco Jansen's impressive figures of 3/33, Seattle piled up a formidable 227/6, setting Washington Freedom a daunting target of 228.
Jasdeep Singh wreaks Havoc
Washington Freedom's chase never got going as Jasdeep Singh produced a match-winning spell with the ball. The right-arm seamer ripped through the batting order, returning outstanding figures of 5/24 in four overs.The Freedom suffered an early collapse, losing key batters Steven Smith (1), Glenn Maxwell (0) and Mitchell Owen (5) cheaply, before slumping to 50/7 inside eight overs.Lower-order contributions from Amila Aponso (31 off 13) and Ian Holland (26) briefly delayed the inevitable, but Cameron Gannon (2/16) wrapped up the innings as Washington were bowled out for 139 in 16.2 overs.
